Overview: The Facilities Janitor is responsible for cleaning and maintaining buildings/facilities to ensure compliance with sanitation regulations.
Provide excellent service to the clients at all times.
Hours for this position are Monday thru Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm.
Primary Responsibilities: Crush all cardboards that the night crew has discarded during the night s production.
Empty all garbage cans within the warehouse facility.
Sweep up all debri in isles, walkways & pick modules.
Clean guard rails and pole barriers quarterly.
Run the scrubber on a daily basis to keep the dust down within the warehouse facility.
Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming them.
Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors as instructed.
Service, clean, and supply restrooms within the facility.
Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, and according to specifications.
Clean laboratory equipment, such as glassware and metal instruments, using solvents, brushes, rags, and power cleaning equipment.
Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, and snow shovels, and spread snow melting chemicals as needed.
Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings.
Spray insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestation.
Operate Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) to move, store, or stage product in or on storage racks.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalency plus 1 year of experience.
Physical Demands: Physical demands include frequently sitting and operating a motor vehicle.
Physical demands include a considerable amount of time walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping.
May require lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 56lbs.
This position is deemed a safety-sensitive position.
