OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Industrial Janitor for our manufacturing facility.
The Industrial Janitor will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of production areas, common spaces, and facilities.
This role plays a crucial part in maintaining a safe and orderly work environment for all employees.
Responsibilities:
Cleaning and Sanitation:
Perform routine cleaning tasks in production areas, including sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing floors to remove debris, spills, and stains.
Clean and sanitize manufacturing equipment, machinery, and workstations to maintain hygiene and prevent contamination.
Disinfect high-touch surfaces, such as door handles, handrails, and light switches, to minimize the spread of germs.
Empty trash bins and recycling containers regularly, ensuring proper disposal of waste materials.
Restroom and Break-areas Maintenance:
Clean and sanitize restrooms thoroughly, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures, using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.
Replenish restroom supplies, such as toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels, to ensure availability for employees.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in breakareas, including wiping down tables, countertops, and appliances, and emptying trash receptacles.
Facility Upkeep:
Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of common areas, corridors, and entryways throughout the facility.
Wash windows, glass doors, and other transparent surfaces to ensure clarity and visibility.
Assist with basic maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, repairing minor plumbing issues, and unclogging drains.
Keep outdoor areas, including parking lots and walkways, free of debris, snow, and ice to ensure safety for employees and visitors.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while performing cleaning tasks, including the proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
Report any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or incidents to supervisors promptly for resolution.
Participate in safety training programs and follow established guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment used in industrial environments.
Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards.
Ability to work independently and efficiently, with minimal supervision.
Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that require bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
