Dining room set made by the Breece Manufacturing company in Portsmouth, Ohio, circa 1932/1933.
Breece was better known for chairs but the only manufacturer's stamp is for Breece and it is on the bottom of the table.
48" diameter table with three (3) 9" expansion leaves.
Five (5) straight-back chairs
One (1) master chair with arms
China cabinet
Buffet table/server with mirror
The whole set was taken apart and re-assembled over the winter of 2019/2020.
The finish was changed from nearly black to a lighter, almost chocolate brown.
It has new (2020) leather for the seats.
Pick-up only in Fort Worth, TX.
Will not be sold to anyone sight-unseen.
No shipping.
Come see it.
I added glass tops for the dining table and buffet/server.
The furniture is a mix of black walnut and something else, likely Poplar.
The table top is a black walnut veneer.
There was some minor damage to a buffet table leg (foot) in 1984 but it was repaired.
The mirror for the buffet table/server is new.
It was purchased new in 1932 or 1933 by my father's aunt (his mother's sister) and passed to my parents, passed around by my siblings and I have it now.
I had the refinishing work done in 2019.
It is original, not a reproduction.
I believe all hardware is original.
There's also a wood case to house the three expansion leaves, also original.
